No rain, no flowers ...

As far as inspirational quotes go, this must be one of my favourites ever. I love how, in what I could possibly call the sweetest, yet most straight forward of ways, it puts into perspective those days we feel at our lowest, when we feel the most challenged or overwhelmed.
During the last weeks, there have been times when I felt my energy not quite on point, my concentration levels playing up and my joie de vivre just not there really. I was constantly on the go, packing one suitcase after the other and heading to my favourite destinations every weekend … it seemed like I was living my best life, and no one would have been any wiser. To be quite honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way most of the time. I love the feeling of being busy, being rushed off my feet and having a to-do list which I can tick off at the end of the day. I guess the idea of getting as many things as possible done in a day gives me a sense of accomplishment.
However, it is at these times when I know I need to stop and take a minute for myself. Allowing myself time to rest, recharge and rediscover my ‘why’ – be it for my blog, my 9 to 5, or my life in general – is healthy and much needed. It just helps to re-focus and place things that may feel overwhelming and feed into anxiety attacks, more into perspective. It’s the little rain we need to make beautiful flowers bloom into our life.
