Photo diary: Chasing bluebells in Hallerbos

It's just about the start of bluebell season here in Belgium and the one place which everyone flocks towards to see these tiny periwinkle coloured miracles is Hallerbos, a short drive away from Brussels. The thing is, you know what they say, "you can take the girl out of the city but not the city of the girl" ... on my first visit to the bluebell fields of Hallerbos, I not only chose the most delicate of footwear I own but also carried with me my most precious of bags haha! Oh well, in a way it was a semi-impromptu trip so I'll just console myself with that. Anyhow, enough about me. The bluebells in Hallerbos bloom for only a handful of weeks every year and it's always a magnificent sight (at least from what I've seen previously online). Alas, my visit happened when only the first blooms have yet started flowering but it was still a most magical and inspiring experience. Despite being a city girl and feeling my best when I'm lost in an old town or traipsing along a museum's halls, I will always be mesmerized and truly humbled by the beauty and greatness of nature. Hallerbos is one prime example of the gorgeous green spaces here in Belgium. After waiting three years to make this visit, I know that this is going to be a yearly appointment to look forward to.
